Meysam Qadrdan

Dr Meysam Qadrdan is a Lecturer in Energy Systems and Networks at Cardiff University. Before starting his current role in January 2015, he spent one year at Imperial College (Feb 2014 to Jan 2015) and two years at Cardiff University (Feb 2012 to Feb 2014) as a research associate. Meysam obtained his PhD from Cardiff University in 2012.
He conducts fundamental and applied research into the modelling and analysis of integrated energy systems including electricity, gas, heat and hydrogen. Through employing novel mathematical techniques, he develops modelling tools to investigate the optimal expansion and operation of interdependent energy systems at different scales from community to national level. The high-level objective of his research is to investigate how the effective integration of various energy vectors facilitates increased use of renewable sources and therefore addresses the challenges of the energy system namely: reducing emission, improving security of supply and ensuring that energy is affordable.
