Carlo Mol is working as Project Leader Energy Technology at VITO/EnergyVille. EnergyVille is an association of the Flemish research institutes KU Leuven, VITO and imec in the field of sustainable energy and intelligent energy systems. Carlo Mol coordinated the Flemish Living Lab Electric Vehicles (2011-2015) which was an innovation platform (70 partners – funding of 16,25 m€) to facilitate and accelerate the innovation and adoption of electric vehicles in the Flemish region. Carlo Mol is also ExCo representative of Belgium within the IEA TCP on Hybrid and Electric Vehicles.
As project coordinator he was responsible for the VITO part of EFRO Project 936 “Towards a sustainable energy supply in cities (2015-2018)” and he was also founding partner of the Flemish Zero Emission Bus Platform (2017-2018). Today he is the project coordinator of the Flemish Knowledge Platform Smart Charging (2018-2019) and H2020 project EVERLASTING “Electric Vehicle Enhanced Range, Lifetime And Safety Through INGenious battery management (2016-2020)”.
